Washington sent goalkeeper Vitek Vanechek to the farm club. He will play in the AHL in order to get in shape, the press service of the club reports.
Vanechek was injured on February 1 in a game against Pittsburgh. Then Kasperi Kapanen, the forward of the rivals, crashed into him.
Since then, Vanechek has not appeared on the ice in official matches.
This season, the goalkeeper has played 21 games, conceding an average of 2.39 goals and reflecting 91.5 percent of shots.
