Varlamov and Fleury are the main candidates to strengthen the Edmonton goaltending line

Hockey

Edmonton are actively looking for a new goaltender. The main targets are Marc-Andre Fleury of Chicago and Islanders goaltender Semyon Varlamov, journalist Mark Spector writes.

The contract of 33-year-old Varlamov with a cap-hit of $5 million per year runs until the end of the 2022/23 season. In the contract, he has a clause according to which he can make a list of 16 teams where he cannot be exchanged.

This is the last season for the 37-year-old Fleury on a three-year, $21 million contract (average annual value of $7 million). In the summer, he can become an unrestricted free agent.
