President of the Russian Hockey Federation Vladislav Tretyak believes that not all KHL clubs are working to improve the skills of their players.
“The same Canadians who come from the National Hockey League to play at the World Championship are trained in clubs. Our clubs have to work with players, but they are not trained there. Look, out of 10 scorers in the KHL, two or three are only Russians from year to year. A player must come to the national team with the ability to clearly carry out the task, which is why he is a professional, ”TASS quotes Tretiak.
He stated that the coaches in the clubs should better physically prepare the hockey player for the national team.
Russian hockey players won the silver of the Olympic Games in Beijing, in the final on Sunday, losing to the Finns with a score of 1:2.
