At all Grand Slam tournaments, with a score of 6:6 in the decisive set of the match, a tie-break up to 10 points will be applied, the Wimbledon press service reports.
The innovation will take effect with Roland Garros this year, which will run from May 22 to June 5.
According to a statement on Wimbledon’s website, the rule will apply to all Grand Slam tournaments in qualifying tournaments, men’s and women’s singles, doubles, wheelchair events and junior singles events.
Previously, Wimbledon played a tie-break to 7 points in the decisive set with a score of 12:12, at the US Open – with a score of 6:6. At the Australian Open, a tie-break was held to 10 points at a score of 6:6, and at Roland Garros they played a decisive set without a tie-break to a difference of two games after a score of 6:6.
