The Minister of Education of Latvia Anita Muizhniece demanded that the leadership of the Riga “Dinamo” withdraw from the Continental Hockey League.
“I hope that we will finally stop talking about sports (yes, and about music), which supposedly is not connected with politics … Yes, I especially want to highlight Dynamo Riga and the fact that this “story” is about participation in “Open Championship of Russia” must be stopped completely,” Muizhniece wrote on Twitter.
Earlier, the fan club of the Finnish team Jokerit made the same demand.
Dynamo Riga was founded in 2008. Since the same year, the club has been playing in the KHL.
