The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) has suspended all Russian teams and clubs from participating in competitions under the auspices of the organization, TASS reports citing a press release from the organization.
The statement said that the decision was made in connection with the situation around Ukraine. Russian teams will not be able to take part in tournaments until further notice.
The decision was made in accordance with the recommendation of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and also applies to 3×3 basketball.
