President of the Russian Tennis Federation Shamil Tarpischev shared his opinion on the work of Russian coach Dmitry Tursunov with British tennis player Emma Radukanu.
“In my opinion, it is too early to talk about Tursunov’s influence on Radukan. The fact is that in terms of the properties of her nervous system, the British woman is closer to Kournikova than to Sharapova. I mean that Masha had all the advertising contracts on the sidelines. Tennis came first. But with Anna it was the other way around. I am sure that Radukanu’s decline in results was due to too much participation in various photo shoots.
The main task of Tursunov is to find an approach to the ward and introduce her advertising activities within a reasonable framework. The question is also whether Radukan herself wants to make changes in her lifestyle. It is important that she believe the coach and agree to give herself to the sport entirely, without a trace,” Tarpishchev quotes Betonmobile.ru.
Tursunov began coaching Radukana in July 2022.
The 19-year-old athlete is the winner of one Grand Slam tournament and one WTA tournament.
