Polish tennis player Iga Swiatek commented on the victory over Simona Halep (7:6 (8:6), 6:4) in the semifinals of the tournament in Indian Wells.
“The match against Halep was the most difficult. Even though I had occasionally lost the first set in the previous two weeks, I still felt like I had a little more control over how the match went.
Today I had to bounce back after several breaks, so I think it was the most difficult match psychologically. Besides, coming back in the tiebreak cost me a lot of energy. Probably, if I were a spectator, I would say that this match was the most exciting,” the WTA official website quoted Sventek as saying.
In the final of the tournament, March 20, the Pole will meet with the Greek tennis player Maria Sakkari.
