Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law introducing such concepts as “conflict of interest” and “insider information” in the field of physical culture and sports, RIA Novosti reports with reference to a document published on the official Internet portal of legal information.
According to the document, the concepts of “conflict of interest in the field of physical culture and sports” and “insider information” are fixed in the law.
Insider information is considered to be information defined as such by the all-Russian sports federation or professional league in relation to the sport developed by it and the competitions held.
All-Russian sports federations and professional sports leagues are required by law to approve lists of insider information and ensure that they are posted on their official websites within five days of their approval. Competition organizers are obliged to include in the regulations and regulations of official sports competitions the requirements for the prevention of conflicts of interest in the field of physical culture and sports, as well as measures aimed at the implementation of such requirements.
