Honored coach of Russia Vladimir Plushev expressed his opinion on the proposal of the KHL not to finish the regular season.
“The situation is very readable. The pandemic intervened in the calendar, – Plushev quotes the “Championship”. – We allowed ourselves to prepare for the Olympics for more than a month. Of course, we must finish, but how many teams will participate in the playoffs? I suggested expanding the playoff zone. It’s probably logical to start with the playoffs. But, of course, those teams that could get into the playoff zone will be offended. It was possible to expand the zone, everyone would be happy. There were options. It is necessary not to discuss together, three of us, but to look at everything objectively.
Earlier it became known that the leadership of the KHL offered not to finish the regular season. The 16 teams that will advance to the playoffs are proposed to be determined by the percentage of wins. This is due to the fact that the teams played a different number of matches.
