Defender Nikita Mikhailovsky has agreed to terminate the contract with the Australian club Tasmania JackJumpers.
As reported on the team’s website, the 21-year-old Russian will leave the team and return to Russia to Avtodor Saratov.
Tasmania noted that in six months Mikhailovsky “has achieved significant success both on and off the court.” NBL Commissioner Jemery Leliger added that Nikita is “an extremely experienced and gifted young player” and has a successful career ahead of him.
The average statistics of Mikhailovsky in JackJumpers in 2 matches is 3.5 minutes, 1 point, 1 loss. The Russian has not stepped on the floor since January 30.
Mikhailovsky moved to the Australian club as part of the NBL Next Star program, which helps foreign talented players develop in the NBL championship with the goal of continuing their careers in the NBA.
