Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal commented on his refusal to participate in the tournament in Miami.
“The last couple of seasons I have not played in Miami. I’m almost 36. At the beginning of the season, I played a lot more than I expected. Quick transitions from one coating to another are undesirable for my body. From clay to hard, that is, from hard to clay. If I play in Miami, I will not have time to rest or prepare for the transition to clay, ”the ATP press service quoted Nadal as saying.
The 21-time Grand Slam champion reached the finals of the Masters series tournament in Miami 5 times. But since 2017, he has not taken part in it. The tournament starts on March 21st.
