Russian racing driver Nikita Mazepin made a statement about the fact that the Formula 1 team Haas decided to terminate his contract.
“I understand and am aware of all the difficulties, but I have to admit that the decision of the FIA, as well as my full readiness to accept the proposed conditions in order to continue cooperation, were completely ignored, and no reciprocal steps followed.
I am very grateful to those who sought understanding and expressed support. I incredibly appreciate the time spent in Formula 1, and sincerely hope that we can all be together again in better times, ”TASS quoted Mazepin as saying.
Mazepin, 23, has been playing for Haas since 2021. His best result is 14th at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix last June.
On March 1, the International Automobile Federation announced that Russian and Belarusian racers will compete in international competitions as neutral athletes. Formula 1 also announced the termination of the contract for the Russian Grand Prix.
Today, March 5, Haas announced the termination of the contract with Mazepin.
