Chinese club “Kunlun” will continue to play in the Continental Hockey League. As a source in the club told SE, the performance of Kunlun was not directly related to the preparations for the Beijing Olympics and to a greater extent depends on other factors, in particular, on the partnership between Russia and China. Next season the team will continue to play home matches in Mytishchi near Moscow.
“The club’s management would like to return the team to China, but this depends on the end of the pandemic, the opening of borders and the resumption of regular flights between the two countries,” a source told SE. “It is impossible to predict the situation today, so at the moment another season in Mytishchi looks like a real prospect for the club.”
Earlier, in the Russian media, there was a version according to which, after the end of the Beijing Olympics, Kunlun would cease to exist, since its main goal was to prepare the Chinese team for performance at the home Winter Games on the basis of the KHL club.
