On Saturday, CSKA defeated Tsmoki-Minsk at home with a score of 101:54 in the final match of the VTB United League regular season. As a result, CSKA took first place in the standings.
“Firstly, it should be noted that CSKA won the regular season for the first time since the 2018/19 season. This year, the army team started from third place, but managed to pull themselves together, began to approach championship matches more responsibly, won nine victories in a row and ended the regular season as winners. At the same time, one of their main competitors, UNICS Kazan, which had been in the lead for a long time, lost two very important matches to Zenit and Lokomotiv, and thus also helped CSKA.
CSKA held the championship as always in class. Over a long distance they showed a stable and high level. Of course, everyone has misfires, but for the main matches, as we have seen, the army team concentrates and adequately copes with the tasks set,” Korstin was quoted by TASS.
