Estonian tennis player Anett Kontaveit has withdrawn from the WTA 500 tournament in Dubai, journalist Rem Abulleil tweeted.
Her place in the main draw will be taken by Ukrainian Elina Svitolina. Before the removal of Kontaveit, the tennis player was supposed to play with a qualifier, but now she has entered the “seeding” and will meet Mayar Sherif from Egypt.
Previously, Kontaveit won the WTA tournament in St. Petersburg, defeating Maria Sakkari from Greece in the final.
At the moment, the Estonian is ranked sixth in the WTA rankings.
