General Director of BC Khimki Pavel Astakhov spoke about the transfer of home matches of Russian clubs in the Euroleague and Eurocup to neutral territory.
“What we are seeing now in the world of basketball is sanctions not only against Russian clubs in the Euroleague, the Eurocup, the FIBA Champions League… These are sanctions against all Russian basketball. But sports, and basketball in particular, should always be out of politics! It is impossible, under the guise of “values”, to mix basketball and politics. There is an expression in basketball – “the ball does not lie.” There will be a boomerang effect. Those who now do not want to play with Russian clubs, even on neutral territory, will play with them in their magnificent arenas, but in this case, Russian clubs will feel at home, ”said Pavel Astakhov to SE.
It is likely that CSKA, Zenit, UNICS and Lokomotiv-Kuban will play their home games in Belgrade. This was stated by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.
