Brooklyn Flyers point guard Kyrie Irving has spoken out about refusing to get vaccinated against the coronavirus.
“I stood firm on what I believed in, how I wanted to do with my body. I believe that not only Americans should have such a right, it should be the right of any person. I can’t speak for everyone, but over time and the development of the situation, I know that I made the right decision for myself, ”ESPN quotes Kyrie Irving.
The 30-year-old American missed the start of the 2021/22 season due to refusal to vaccinate. In January, Irving was allowed to play in away matches, and in February – in home meetings. In 29 NBA regular season games, Irving averaged 27.4 points, 4.4 rebounds and 5.8 assists.
