The head of Red Bull Christian Horner commented on the presentation of the team’s new car for the 2022 Formula 1 season.
“Since the regulations are completely new for everyone, the development of cars will be very, very fast. That is, it seems to me that by the beginning of the first race of the season, our car will look completely different from what it looks like right now. And I think that in the course of the season this process of evolution of the car will take place very, very quickly.
The car that we showed is, in fact, just a prototype. And in each new race the car will change. We will probably not use the same configuration twice in a row, the machine will constantly change.
At the same time, we will need to do all this within the financial constraints of the budget. So you have to be very picky about exactly what areas we want to spend money on, working on the development of the car,” Horner quotes The Race.
The team’s car for the 2022 F1 season has been named the RB18.
The first stage of the 2022 season will be held from 18 to 20 March in Bahrain. This year, as in the past, Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez will play for Red Bull.
At the end of last season, the team took second place in the Constructors’ Championship, and Verstappen won the championship title in the individual competition.
