Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton said he does not believe that the team will be able to fight for victories in the 2021/22 Formula 1 season.
“At this point, I’m sure everyone understands, we’re not the fastest. Ferraris look faster. Then Red Bull, and then us, and maybe McLaren.
I don’t think that Mercedes will fight for victory. Of course, in a week the alignments will clear up. But maybe there will be surprises”, — quotes the words of Hamilton Autosport.
The driver also shared his impressions of the aerodynamics of the new cars.
“Chasing opponents is a little easier, which is a plus. I hope F-1 went in the right direction. I would like to get better tires at some point, ”added Hamilton.
Today, March 12, on the third day of pre-season testing in Bahrain, the Mercedes pilot took ninth place.
Bahrain will host the first round of the 2022 Formula 1 season from 18 to 20 March.
