Mercedes driver George Russell shared his opinion about the new team.
“Becoming a combat pilot of a Mercedes is a special and slightly strange feeling. I spent so much time here when I competed in Formula 3, Formula 2. In a way, I feel like I’m back home, with the people I’ve known for so long. I really like to get used to the team”, — quotes the words of Russell RaceFans.
Russell will start driving for Mercedes as a combat driver from the 2022 season, taking over from Valtteri Bottas. Before that, the Briton was a Williams racer. In the 2020 season, he already had a race for this team, then he replaced the coronavirus-infected Lewis Hamilton at the Sahir Grand Prix and finished 9th.
The first round of the 2022 season, the Bahrain Grand Prix, will take place from 18 to 20 March.
