The FIA’s technical stewards have confirmed the decision to recognize Mercedes’ new rear-view mirrors as fit for use in racing, according to the Formula 1 website.
On tests in Bahrain, the German team used unusual mirrors with flaps. They are installed on a kind of fender liner with deflectors in the rear.
Many believe that this mount is used as an additional aerodynamic element, although formally the assembly as a whole does not violate the rules.
