Djokovic could miss two tournaments due to US vaccination rules

Tennis

World number one Serb Novak Djokovic may miss the tournaments in Indian Wells and Miami, which will be held in March, reports ESPN.

This is due to a new US law that allows foreigners to enter the country only with a full vaccination against coronavirus.

Earlier, Djokovic was deported from Australia, where he was going to take part in the Australian Open. He was detained at Melbourne airport due to the fact that he could not provide border guards with documents for a medical exemption from vaccination against coronavirus.

After the trial, the athlete’s visa was canceled, and he himself was warned about the need to leave the country. Djokovic challenged the legality of the decision of the border guard in court and won the case, but the Australian authorities on January 14 decided to re-revoke the tennis player’s visa and deport him from the country. The athlete filed a new appeal, but it was rejected.
