Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea plans to meet with head coach Erik ten Hag to discuss his future at the club, according to The Guardian.
There have been persistent rumors lately that United are unsure about extending De Gea’s contract expiring at the end of the season. Such uncertainty does not suit the 31-year-old Spaniard.
The goalkeeper’s contract with the club also includes an option to extend the contract until 2024. However, Manchester United do not want to automatically renew De Gea’s deal due to the player’s high wages, which are in excess of £300,000 a week.
The goalkeeper has been with Manchester United since 2011. He has conceded 8 goals in 6 Premier League games this season.
