Roland Garros semi-finalist Andrey Chesnokov, in a conversation with a SE correspondent, appreciated the performance of Russian tennis players in the Masters at the tournament in Monte Carlo.

“Khachanov played very poorly in this tournament both in Indian Wells and in Miami. Each victory gives some confidence, and he loses in the first round. He got a difficult opponent in Monte Carlo. Karatsev started to play healthy in the match with Runa. I already thought that at some point he would turn the tide of the match. Sometimes you have to not be in good shape, but have a freebie on the grid. There were players that Khachanov could have beaten. But the season on earth is just beginning. The main tournament is Roland Garros. The guys have the opportunity to show themselves well at the main tournament of the season,” Chesnokov told SE.

Earlier it became known that Russian tennis players completed their performance in Monte Carlo. The last participant was Andrey Rublev, who lost to the Italian Yannick Sinner in the 1/8 finals of the tournament (7:5, 1:6, 3:6).
