Barcelona director Mateu Alemani has spoken out about the possible acquisition of Borussia Dortmund striker Erlin Haaland.
“I can’t name names,” Alemany quotes Mundo Deportivo. – The only thing I can say is that Barcelona remains one of the best clubs in the world. We are working to ensure that we have the most competitive squad.”
The director of the Catalan club answered whether the signing of the 21-year-old Norwegian depends on the salary limit.
“We are working hard. We need to analyze every situation. Hiring a player is different from hiring any other employee. There are many things to consider, such as financial fair play. It is very difficult,” he said.
This season, Haaland has scored 23 goals and provided six assists in 20 games for Borussia. The striker’s contract with the Dortmund club runs until June 30, 2024. Portal Transfermarkt estimates the value of the Norwegian at 150 million euros.
