Eduardo Baptista, head coach of Atletico Goianiense, has resigned after losing 1-2 to Corinthians in the 28th round of the Brazilian Championship.
The 52-year-old Brazilian was appointed on 31 August. In the debut match, the team defeated Sao Paulo in the first leg of the semi-finals of the Copa Sudamericana. However, then five meetings in a row were lost, including the second leg against Sao Paulo.
Until the end of the season, the assistant to former head coach Eduardo Souza should be appointed acting head coach.
After 28 rounds of the Brazilian Championship, Athletico Goianiense is in 19th place in the Brazilian Championship with 22 points.
