The Arizona National Hockey League team has reached an agreement with the University of Arizona to share its arena, according to insider Elliott Friedman.
The Coyotes will play at a 5,000-seat NCAA team site until a new arena is built in Tempe, a suburb of Phoenix. To make the arena suitable for NHL games, Arizona will have to spend about $20 million in infrastructure development.
Earlier it became known that the mayor’s office of the city of Glendale in Arizona, where the Arizona home arena is located, will not renew the lease agreement with the club after the end of the 2021/22 season.
